Well… After spending two nights in NYC I was very happy to get back to New Paltz and take a nice long shower. There is nothing quite like that unique mixture of fecal matter, bacteria and other bio matter and smog that clings to your skin after spending time in NYC. That feeling, best described as ‘ugh!’, serves as a lasting reminder of the layer of filth covering everything in the Subway system and in the streets. I have to wonder if someone were to take samples of the dirt found in subway stations how many lethal diseases it would contain.

Oh, and in the movie department: Skip The Hulk and see Finding Nemo instead.

I have two accomplishments to report today… both which show I have no life. The first is I now have my first level 50 character in DAOC: 50 Bard on Gaheris.

The second is after about 10 to 12 hours worth of tinkering I managed to get a working SE Linux installation under User Mode Linux using Gentoo.

A little snippit for fun:

Take a sometimes annoying Australian, add in a deep desire to see him lose a limb to a wild animal, add a touch of reality show and what do you have? The latest TV event I’m sure to miss… “Croc Hunter Live!”. And of course the commercials for it pimp out the fact “anything could happen”. Sorry, even if he did get his leg snapped off by a croc he anally molested, I would not watch that crap.

The Croc Hunter website is also a great test for a very cool extention for Mozilla Firebird called Flash Click To View. It does wonders for those obnoxious Macromedia Flash using ads that are present on most major websites these days.

“When I look at the members of the United States military, I see the best of our country, and I am honored to be your Commander-In-Chief,” Bush said. “I am equally honored that you are stoically accepting Congress’ elimination of a large percentage of the benefits you were promised upon enlisting so that I can finance a massive tax cut.”Satire on The Onion

It is scary how The Onion is supposed to be a humor publication but yet they have more coherent and honest reporting then most major news outlets.

I played a little marathon session of Morrowind tonight. I tried to put a sizable dent in the main quest but I’m probably not even half way there yet. Sigh. Morrowind can be a very fun game and the world is simply amazing but the game is not perfect by far. But, I have spent much more time on this game then any other single player game in my life so I guess that means something.

I’m hoping Bloodmoon (cutscene movie) will help bring back the feelings of excitement and wonder that have worn off after playing Morrowind for 70+ hours (when most people say they finish the main quest in half that time). I’m also hoping the introduction of werewolves and hunters brings a fear element to the game.
