Apparently some people have a strange sense of duty. I’m still wondering if it’s a joke.

Just finished watching Revolution OS on DVD. It is a somewhat dated these days and doesn’t cover anything that wasn’t already publically known but is a good primer on the history of Linux. The coverage of VA Linux’s IPO is amusing considering VA dropped the Linux from its name and is now a dying proprietary software company.

In other news the new icon for Thunderbird is up for viewing. Even though I’m a big Evolution fan I do like the new artwork being created for Thunderbird.

I’ve been spending much of the time that I would have spent playing a MMORPG and dumping it into fooling around on a private MOO server. It is being run by some people I know from IRC who were equally bored. I’ve been trying my hand at creating some objects and getting a grasp of its custom object oriented programming language.

My first creation was an object for Pimpbot 5000. Right now he randomly uses quotes from the Pimpbot 5000 skits from Conan. One of these nights I plan on rewriting him to also cruise around the MOO in a pink caddy and argue with some “ho’s” in a certain area.

I did manage to log into FFXI long enough to discover two things: The plants in your Mog House need attention every 24 to 48 hours or they die… and that even mid-level Japanese groups can suck ass.

A small Sicilian village has been having problems with electronic devices and appliances catching on fire. This site has an interesting log of events and theories on what is causing the fires.

Wu sherM AIM away message: making a fool out of myself I'm sure

Wouldn’t it be better if his away message was something that wasn’t automatically assumed?

Fable: Microsoft has started ramping up the press machine for the release of Fable for XBOX this summer. One of the more interesting articles is at TeamXbox. The article has two short videos which show some hack and slash fighting with magic and range attacks thrown in.

Everquest 2: Two high resolution videos are up. You can get them at 3DGamer’s Everquest 2 section . The first is the generic preview/teaser. The second shows NPC voice overs which I didn’t realize were in the game. Will EQ2 have FFXI style quest cutscenes? (WARNING: The videos are high resolution QuickTime videos. Do not attempt to view on a 1ghz system or you have have major framerate issues.)
