The CBS News show 60 Minutes has a 15 minute video up on their website describing the entire sub-prime market crisis. The segment named “House of Cards” is the best summary I’ve seen yet and should serve as a primer for those still wondering what all this noise on the news is about.

I saw this video mentioned on Calculated Risk which is the best way of tracking the day to day news about this clusterf!@#.

    1. 60 Minutes is one of the few ‘newsmagazines’ I can tolerate and it was a very good episode actually. The House of Cards segment was excellent and the thing about Saddam Hussein could have been summed up into “My father was right way back in 2002″.

My father had been saying forever that he got rid of all his WMDs, but he was more afraid of Iran than us. He thought that if Iran knew he didn’t have anything – they’d crush him. He thought that the worst we would actually do would be bomb them again. The segment on Hussein they had on 60 Minutes basically said the same thing but that was the ONLY place I’ve ever heard in the mainstream media which actually mentioned that.
